Caption: We spent the summer day in Chamonix, Switzerland. We took a gondola up the mountain and hiked up a little further, taking photos all around. The Alps encircled us in every direction like a big, snowy hug. The mountains rose so high into the sky that they seemed to make their own weather. Back in town, we ate at a small sidewalk cafe. We shared a Raclette, a Swiss dish of cheese heated over a warming element. We scraped the melted parts onto a big selection of breads, potatoes, and meats.
