Location: Lake Bled, Slovenia
Caption: Lake Bled in Slovenia is the stuff of fairy tales. We took a bus from Ljubljana to Bled and checked into our Airbnb. We then headed to the city center - the Lake. The nearly 1 1/2 mile trail goes all the way around. We hiked and took pictures of everything because it's all so incredibly picturesque. First there are the Julian Alps, then the Pilgrimage Church of the Assumption of Maria that sits on a small island in the middle of the lake, and finally there's the 11th century Bled Castle that can be seen behind the church. The crystal clear glacial water reflects the history and beauty all around.
